Hey all.
There is a new station in the works.
It's called the blade.
actually it has been in the works for a long time.
all your favorites from mvrn are here now.
also we will be having new and original shows.
we have stopped all little stations and we're serious about the blade.
I will be the manager/owner and my buddy lerry clark hopefully will be gm.
anyway all. please listen if you can.
We're here to be your station..
after it's all about the listeners.
I know you've heard this 10000 times but we're for real.
please keep it here for more info such as our skype name and our msn and aim names.
Thank you.
Austin.
P.S: if you visit palm bay florida, we're on 90.3 fm as well.

and i ment kerry Clark. oups. damn typos.

Post 3 by Toonhead71 (move over school!) on Friday, 13-Apr-2007 20:22:02

Ok, now you guys are actually headed in the right direction. But let me make yet another suggestion. Don't just promote yourself here on the zone. Start up a mailing list on a site like google groups, or yahoo or another site like that. get yourself a myspace, or a blog at livejournal and make it a real team effort, not just one guy promoting everything. Put yourselves out there. You are right, we've heard this about 10000 times and honestly it's hard to believe because of all the fly-by-night, 2 week stations that happen. But you are at least on lpfm and that's a nice start. Give your listeners another way to listen other than just online. Good luck, seriously. I hope it goes well for you guys. but please, remember, these are only ideas and it's just me, putting my 2 cents in again cause I like to see things go well. please don't fuck this up!

Post 4 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Friday, 13-Apr-2007 23:39:53

hell chris. A myspace is in the works. I'm going to ask a sity if they can make one for me.
those god damn images...
anyway. the blade has been up more then ever.
We're trying our best and if no one likes then don't listen. simple as that. and if you guys do listen let us know by dropping a line to thebladeradio@gmail.com and also add that to your msns. also add the.blade.radio to skype and aim is thebladeradio.
Thank you for listening.

Post 11 by Nick6489 (11 years a Zoner) on Friday, 27-Apr-2007 17:42:37

Bad move, dude, very bad move. Listen to my radio does have its problems, but it's on some good bandwidth. Lessed things happen that I don't know about, you may have submarined yourself for now.

Post 12 by Toonhead71 (move over school!) on Saturday, 28-Apr-2007 14:05:04

hmmm. can you make any good suggestions for Dynamic DNS providers Nick? I agree, the one Austin is using has had its problems, but hopefully it'll be stable til he finds another.

Post 13 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Saturday, 28-Apr-2007 18:03:24

well nick, listen 2 my radio is done. I'm hosting on my own host now.
There you go and listen 2 my radio sucks. It was down a lot and people had trouble tuning it in.
so there is no more problems.
I wished i would have known. oh well you live and learn.
and chris... no more listen2myradio dude.
the host i'm using is www.dyndns.com
and it's stable as hell.

Post 14 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Saturday, 28-Apr-2007 18:04:23

i ment dyndns.org. oups.

Post 15 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Saturday, 28-Apr-2007 18:04:49

Cool Austin. I'm gettin my laptop saturday so I'll ha able to listen. Awesome.

Post 18 by Nick6489 (11 years a Zoner) on Monday, 30-Apr-2007 20:51:36

Listen2MyRadio was not a DynDNS. It was a shoutcast server provider on big bandwidth, that also had a small website-like thing that had an embedded player. It really was very easy to listen to the blade, even if you didn't know what you were doing. It wasn't a purminant solution, of corse, but it would do.

Post 19 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Tuesday, 01-May-2007 3:26:40

well listen2myradio also didn't work on macs. and at least people are able to listen. I still have the listen2myradio acount but don't intend on using it vary much. It was down at times and some people couldn't listen to it. that's why i resourted to run it off my machine.
and i will be getting a desktop varry soon so the blade will be up more.

Post 20 by Nick6489 (11 years a Zoner) on Tuesday, 01-May-2007 17:49:53

AHa. That explains why you switched.

Shame that, I do kind of like the idea. Oh well, good luck.

Post 23 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Saturday, 05-May-2007 1:23:01

yes kerry.
and this brings me to a point.
First,
www.thebladeradio.com in now the new home fo the blade.
and
www.myspace.com/thebladeradio is the blade's myspace.
there you go.

and, I did keep that listen 2 my radio acount nick.
We'll use it as a back up streaming source.
Also please let me know if you would like to see the blade have a dial-up stream.
I could add another hostname under my dyndns acount.
So please let me know if this would be a viable idea.

Post 24 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Tuesday, 19-Jun-2007 16:07:27

ok update. the frequency for the fm station is 90.9 one of the big guys has 90.3. Anyway, the blade now has a shoutbox on our site.
and for those of you who don't know what a shoutbox is it's basically something where you can leave comments on a site. It's kind of like qns on here. anyway don't forget to check out
www.thebladeradio.com
and also, as soon as i learn how to code a ventrilo link we will have a link to our vt server.
All this will be under the interact link on the site.
also the site is being constantly updated so keep checking it out. thank you.
Austin

Post 25 by Toonhead71 (move over school!) on Thursday, 21-Jun-2007 18:48:35

See, folks, Austin gets it. So, for all you guys thinking of starting your own stations, this is how you do it. or at least, he's headed in the right direction.

Post 26 by the reconstructionist (lucifer doesn't exist. he is only the planet venus personified!) on Sunday, 15-Jul-2007 18:34:30

good job Austin.
Your site's the shizit!

Post 27 by ItsAConspiraZ (This site is so "educational") on Monday, 16-Jul-2007 18:55:24

DynDNS isn't actually a host; it just gives your computer an easy name to refer to it with rather than the IP (127.0.0.1). Since all the servers are actually being hosted on your computer, I'm not sure if your bandwidth could hold a ventrilo and second shoutcast server (for dialup) in addition to the main shoutcast.

Post 28 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Monday, 23-Jul-2007 16:30:05

I'm not sure on the dial up server folks. I've been vary busy with other things and havn't been able to do the blde. But the blade si not dead.

Post 35 by Nick6489 (11 years a Zoner) on Monday, 20-Aug-2007 19:34:33

Keep something in mind. Your start in internet radio livelyhood is ill-timed. It seems that your other friends are also getting the idea of how to do this at least semi-properly. You're going to quickly have to find a way to give your station something the others don't have. If not, well...You might be up shit's creek without a paddle. And when you do finally find prosperity, you have to work to keep it (this was my mistake, but one that will soon be rectified.)

Post 36 by Izzito (This site is so "educational") on Monday, 20-Aug-2007 19:44:10

and have a station that actually works and not one that when you click listen it goes to server not found

Post 37 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Friday, 24-Aug-2007 15:06:00

i'm sorry. sometimes i get stressed out and say things i don't mean to say. I had some pc trouble that's why the blade wasn't up. i'm sorry about that. it will be up more. I promise.

Post 40 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Friday, 24-Aug-2007 15:15:21

well nick, the thing about our stations is we all work together it's not about competing. we're all friends we all have different things to offer. I know it sounds messed but we don't care. wirb radio and the blade are friends.

Post 42 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Friday, 24-Aug-2007 15:20:58

and we will have a schedule. also starting on monday at 11 pm is the chill zone with your's truely dj austin razor. the chill zone plays romantic music to help you chill out and unwind.

Thank you father bear
Austin you idiot, if you gonna promote a radio station, try having it running all the time.
Maybe just maybe when is actually running you could actually promote it instead of waisting space of promoting something that when people go on it it does not work.
Just a thought

hey I love beer
check it out now. what the fuck to you get? it's working so ahhahahahahahha. proved wrong yet again. I know it was down. Yes i'll admit to that but it's not down anymore and it's not a waste of space. the blade is a great station. I have some people doing shows. As i told you we got the dan and mo show. so instead of bitching give us feedback. that helps. and i'm sorry for the down time.

Post 47 by Toonhead71 (move over school!) on Friday, 24-Aug-2007 19:31:49

Hey Austin. Now you know from the beginning that i've been a big supporter of the blade, when it's up, it really is a pretty damn good station. But I need to kind of echo everyone else's sentiments, you do need to keep the station on 24/7 if you can. I know that's not easy if you have limited resources, but if you're going to do this, then that has to be a big priority for you. Also, and this is another really important thing. If you're going to have a new show on the station, it's not really fare to the listeners, or for the blade as a station, to make an announcement about a new show coming up. then 5 days later, you say the show won't happen. It just makes you guys look really bad. I understand if the dj has technicle issues or some kind of thing that prevents them from doing a show, but to do that is, well it just isn't right. So before you or any other djs out there make these big announcements, please, please for God's sake, make sure you can actually deliver on what you promote. I hope you don't think I was rude in any way here. I just wanted to get my point across in what I hope is a helpful way.

Post 48 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Friday, 24-Aug-2007 23:32:05

hi all. i may have said some harsh things today. I'm just been real busy. I'm been coding the site, I've been helping a few friends with there site as well. so i'm varry sorry. As i've said, i'm working on keeping the blade up as much as posible. Now mind you i don't have all the bandwith in the world but i'll work with what i have. Thank you.

Post 49 by Izzito (This site is so "educational") on Saturday, 25-Aug-2007 19:09:58

Good now that is running lets go another step forward.
When talking on the mic don't sound like you're gonna piss on yourself.
Part of being a dj is to be able to talk elequently and clear and not wanna make the listener feel like they are about to fall sleep.
And yeah

Post 50 by Toonhead71 (move over school!) on Saturday, 25-Aug-2007 22:17:11

Yes, delievery of the dj's voice is definitely important. I've been doing this for 7 years and I've definitely learned a thing or two myself.

Post 51 by mistervera (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Wednesday, 29-Aug-2007 15:43:26

oh yes expression and positiveidy is really important.

Post 52 by Toonhead71 (move over school!) on Thursday, 30-Aug-2007 17:34:49

Like I said earlier, you can't just give up on something after 2 weeks if you don't see instant success. internet radio, or radio in general does not give you instant success fame and recognition. it took years for a lot of your major AM and FM stations to become popular, and this is the same deal. So switching around ideas every 2 weeks and shuffling them around isn't going to work. Find an idea, and for Christ's sake, stick with it for more than 2 weeks, put some actual thought into it and educate yourself about how it's done.

Post 53 by spfan15 (O&A Party Rock!!!) on Friday, 31-Aug-2007 11:22:10

Hey guys. I would justl ike to let you know that The Dan and mo Show is on the blade, back better than ever.
Please check out
The blades site
But most of all, check out
a href="http://thedanandmoshow.com">The dan and mo Shows Site
Here on our site, you can find our music, our show archives just incase you missed a show and more. Are show is exploding, and if you can be a listener, that would be great. Trust me, we do not disappoint. We do so many things that will have you rolling. Give it a chance?

oh yeah you all. the blade is back in your face. with the dan and no show. you people keep it locked. so people thought the blade wasn't shit? hahahaahhaahh well think again. we have had over 7 listeners at one point to the dan and mo show. so theer you go.

Post 56 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Friday, 31-Aug-2007 14:48:34

and don't you forget the blade is here and not going anywhere. www.thebladeradio.com

Post 57 by Toonhead71 (move over school!) on Friday, 31-Aug-2007 16:11:04

See, Austin's got it right. Or at least he's headed in the right direction. Kerri just wants to throw on a stream and he thinks 200000 people will listen just cause he says it's out there. and then when that doesn't happen he goes oh sheeit, I'm only getting one listener! what to do! oh, i'll shuffle the call letters around a little, change the format and that'll do it! Nope? Look how many formats and station names he's gone through. So folks, take some cues from Austin. Like I said he may have limited resources, but he gets it.

Post 58 by Nick6489 (11 years a Zoner) on Saturday, 01-Sep-2007 0:21:11

And the resources he does have, he throws around and uses them and milks them for everything they're worth. Keep it up.

Post 59 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Wednesday, 05-Sep-2007 23:48:47

hey all. don't forget the dan and mo show. it's on week days 7 to 9 est. so please don't forget to check it out. also www.thedanandmoshow.com and please email live@thedanandmoshow.com as well. they need all the interaction they can get. also you can call them live on the air. 407 278 5830 thank you all so much for listening.

Post 63 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Monday, 10-Dec-2007 14:28:29

the blade's site is no more. the myspace is no more. I have other things going on in my life i need to do. I'm "giving up the ghost" as they say. I'm finding i have tried too hard to promote a station that's nothing. I'm sorry i lied and tried to be something i couldn't. I've learned a lot from this. I've wasted time and money on this shit and it got me no where. Maybe i don't know what i'm doing. maybe that's why other stations have lasted and the blade sunk like the titanic. I'm sorry to the whole zone for wasting space on this bullshit. I thank you all for your time but the blade is only a hobby station. no more msn, myspace or nothing with the blade attached to it. I'm just keeping the blade just for times when i want to broadcast. if you all care about the blade and want to find out when we do do shows, please add me to msn and myspace witch are both located in the profile. thank you.

Post 64 by Toonhead71 (move over school!) on Monday, 10-Dec-2007 15:31:59

Austin, dude, don't beat yourself up too much. Hey. At least you weren't like certain other people and tried to be something you weren't. You admitted it to yourself and here on the zone. That takes a real set of balls. Yeah. Just keep the blade for what it is. a station for playing around on the weekends or whenever you wanna fire it up and have fun. Absolutely no fault with that, because like I said, you admit that's what it is. The blade is a hobby station. Nuf, fucking, said. Just have fun with it whatever you can and if you're ever on just post here and give us the link to tune in and we will. I give you a lot of credit.

Post 65 by Austin (the magic fan!) on Monday, 10-Dec-2007 20:34:32

thank you tune head. at least someone understands where i'm coming from. I can admit when i don't or can't do something unlike some people i used to know but we won't go there... anyway, i hope you all can except the fact i'm man enough to admit to it and i'm done now. like i said, this bored will be open so i'll post links and what have you if i decide to fire it up. i may do a show this weekend. i haven't broadcasted in so long :). later to you all.
